Photo Assignment

This week's assignment was "holiday." I wasn't really feeling all that creative and really just wanted to enjoy the holiday with my family, but I did manage to get some really cute shots of my nephew. He really enjoyed the tastes of all of his gifts.

Smith Family

Her New Hat

This weekend I got the opportunity to shoot Megan's bridal/TTD pictures. She was great to work with and a pleasure to be around! This weeks photo assignment was anger. I decided to use this one of my daughter. :D

Important social or political issue

This week's nest assignment was an importnant social or political issue to you. I was a total slacker on this this week and did it this morning (they're due on Fridays). Not too big of a deal, I knew what I wanted to use. I had a little creative fun with editing this week. :) You can view the complete collection on myspace. "Wedding" Pictures turned to flowers lol

So upon the advice of a fellow photog, I dragged out my wedding dress, bought some flowers, and whipped out my camera. I think the color of the flowers is throwing off the pictures in the ones with the dress. The ones of just the flowers, I think, came out good. Enjoy and leave some feedback! :)

Learning my lesson

So today went well. I think with each shoot I get better and more comfortable. Two things learned today. SLOW DOWN! lol. I know this may seem like a simple concept that I should know, but I feel if I would have slowed down just a bit today I would have gotten so many more pictures. Don't get me wrong. I most of the pictures today turned out great, or atleast I think so, but they could have all turned out great if I would have slowed down. Mrs. P has a beautiful family and they are very photogenic and so easy to shoot. Second thing, don't give bubbles first thing to the little one's who are in white! Oops! By the time we got to the second location his shirt was dry and all was good to go.

I loved this photo and when it after I took it I thought I had it right. But as you can see the focus is not on the hands where I wanted it to be :( but I thought I would post it anyway.

Post and Run

So, I have to make this a quick post today. They had fun things for the kids to do last night so we took our wee one out to enjoy the fun! She is totally a spitting image of me. Kinda scary lol!

TheNest "photo assignments"

So, I often visit thenest to pass the days. There are a few photographers on there and we decided to do weekly "photo assignments." I think this will help me a lot in learning about photography and learning what works and what doesn't. This weeks assignment is "fall colors." Mrs. R's Cute Kids

Yesterday was so much fun shooting these two! I was incredibly nervous about doing this one because I didn't get the opportunity to "practice" on my neice and nephew. Everything went great! They were very easy to work with. I did, however, learn a very important lesson. When shooting babies have the mom stand right behind me so the baby is "looking at the camera." I think I got some great shots of these two. Please feel free to leave any advice or feed back. My external flash

So I finally got out my external flash and played around with it a bit today. I totally wish I had done this before this weekend. It helps so much with my photos.

My first real shoot!

My best friend let me do a maternity shoot with her and her husband. I was so nervous at first, but once we got going everything seemed to fall more and more into place.
